Welcome this summer the smarter way
What does the very thought of summer bring into your mind? Soaring temperature, heat, sweat, dust and? Well apart from all these there are better things to do in summer like going out for a vacation, lazing around in the beach and lots of holidays for children! Summer is a part of the year wherein we can actually spend a lot of quality time with family and friends, find time to party and actually chill out. Take care to maintain healthy skin this summer.
There are few general tips to be taken into consideration before gearing up for summer. Let us take a deep dive on each one of them to maintain healthy skin:
- Stay hydrated: This is a very important part of summer. Ensure that you keep yourselves hydrated. Drink plenty of water and fresh juices to balance the water content in your body. During summer, water from our body gets evaporated easily leading to dehydration which could be a serious medical problem. Stay away from fizzy drinks which may further contribute to dehydration. Keep drinking and sweat out.
- Eat healthy: Definitely add fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet chart. This would support your system to beat the heat and balance body nutrients. Include a calcium rich source in your food as calcium can be lost in sweat. Similarly, have dry fruits and nuts to maintain a healthy and great skin. A big no to junk food as it could hit hard on the hydration levels in your body.
- Cleansing: It is a general notion that the skin becomes too dirty during summer due to the excessive heat and dust. A regular cleansing of the skin is thus very important. It helps in removing the dirt resulting in clear skin.
- Exfoliating: Our skin breathes through tiny pores and when dirt accumulates in these, it often erupts as acne and pimples. A proper exfoliating routine would help in opening up these pores and push out dirt. A simple homemade scrub would definitely do the magic.
- Toning: This is yet another process in maintaining good skin after scrubbing to bring back the normal tone of skin. A very common skin toner being refrigerated rose water.
- Moisturizing: At times, your skin gets deprived of essential oils due the multiple processes of scrubbing and toning. To bring back the glow to your skin, you will need to use an appropriate moisturizer based on your skin type.
- Sun protection: This is yet another aspect of protecting yourself. Make sure to avoid unnecessary or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as it could be very harmful. Use proper gear to protect yourself from exposure, use sunglasses and also a sunscreen lotion to safeguard your skin. Be conscious to shield your hair and eyes from direct sunlight.
Hope you face this summer smart and stay healthy while enjoying the same time! Have a great summer ahead.
