Can I have the world at my feet? Yes you can!

“A man is well known by the shoes he wears”. Women are known to be fond of collecting footwear but did you know that men too have a myriad of footwear to collect? Yes, nowadays a great pair of shoes is not an add-on to your looks but an utmost necessity. People do judge your character by the footwear you put on apart from your clothes. As eyes are the window to your soul so is your footwear to your personality.

A New York based image consultant told Forbes Magazine that “Men should look at their shoes the way women do; as a great way to take what is already in their closet and make it better.”

How to choose your footwear?

Though there are a variety of shoes to opt upon, your ideal footwear should be based on your comfort level and taste of style. Here are few basic tips you would like to consider while rounding up on a pair of footwear.

  • The foremost factor to be accounted is the occasion of usage. Official footwear would not be suitable for casual outings and vice versa.
  • Have a sense of color choices, shape and material of the shoe
  • Ensure that the footwear fits you well. Neither should it be too tight nor too loose-fitting.
  • Pay attention to the material of the footwear. Also examine the quality of stitching to ensure a long life.
  • Do not overlook the usage of socks. Try the shoes you intend to buy with the socks you use. This will help you to choose better fitting footwear and avoid embarrassment.
  • Lastly, walk and examine the feel of the shoes, the sole type, cushion given inside and the heel size for ease of use.

Types of footwear:

It is a myth that women have vivid dressing options and men do not. Actually men do have and let us begin to explore the types of footwear for them to opt from.

The oxford

This is the most contemporary and classic type of footwear for men. It goes well with both formals and casual wear in dark colors of black, brown and English tan. It is one of the safest choices and gives a sophisticated, sleek look to your legs.

The monk strap

As the name suggests, this shoe has a strap across its leather body. Though it looks similar to Oxford besides the strap, it could be used in less formal instances. It looks perfect when coupled with casual wear.

The loafer

This shoe has a slip-in accommodation without a strap and laces. It is comfortable for rough usage as is made of softer materials and is spacious too

Boots

Boots can be used for unofficial occasions and differ from the regular styles of shoes. They come with zip and slip-in types adding to its sturdy looks.

So men, gear up and begin shopping your footwear with care as it does mean a lot!
