    General specifications at a glance

    • Rust-Oleum Seal Krete Concrete Bonding Primer
    • concrete bonding primer. it reduces peeling and hot tire pickup
    • SURFACE PREP: The surface should be clean and dry. You may need to use an oil stain remover such as Seal-Krete Oil Stain Remover to lift stubborn oil stains. Pressure-washing is recommended.

Bare, Smooth Concrete: Concrete must have cured for a minimum of 30 days before application. Etch the surface with SEAL-KRETE Clean-N-Etch to allow for proper penetration and adhesion. Etching is especially important for smooth-troweled concrete surfaces (like carports, garage and basement floors) and is also recommended for rough-finished surfaces.

Bare, Broom Finished Concrete: Concrete must have cured for a minimum of 30 days before application. Remove ll dirt, grime, grease and oil with a mild solution of Clean-N-Etch (see container for dilution rates) or TSP.

Painted Concrete: Adhesion of final topcoat is always dependent on the integrity of previously applied coatings (existing paint must be sound, not blistering or peeling.) Pressure-wash to ensure loose or peeling paint is completely removed. Degloss the existing paint with 120-150 grit sandpaper, prior to cleaning with a mild alkaline cleaner such as TSP. Rinse thoroughly, allow to dry.

      Application:
Read “LIMITATIONS” on product label before use. Lock-Down is ready to use, do not dilute. Stir gently prior to use, do not shake. One thin coat is recommended. If the concrete is still chalky or very porous, a second coat can be applied after the initial coat has dried to the touch (typically in 2-4 hours). Lock-Down must be allowed to dry for a minimum of 2 hours to ensure proper adhesion of topcoat. Topcoat should be applied shortly thereafter for the best adhesion.

Note: Primer goes on milky white but will dry clear

ROLLER : Before applying, dampen roller, remove excess water, then saturate roller with product. Keep a wet edge at all times to prevent overlap lines. Do not allow product to puddle, foam or run. Use a 1/4″ to 3/8″ nap roller for smooth surfaces; use 1/2″ nap for rough, porous surfaces such as broom finished concrete driveways or sidewalks).

PUMP SPRAYER : Set at a fine spray mist and apply using a circular motion. To eliminate puddling or to achieve a more uniform finish, backroll immediately after spraying.

      COVERAGE:

250 sq. ft. / gallon on broom finished concrete. 500 sq. ft. / gallon on smooth concrete surfaces or over previously painted surfaces.

LIMITATIONS: Temperature should be 50° to 90°F (10° to 32°C) and should not fall below 50°F (10°C) within 24 hours of application. Do not apply if rain is expected within 24 hours. Use only with one component (or one part) water-based products. Not recommended for ashpalt, wood, metal, glazed surfaces or areas subject to standing water or hydrostatic pressure.
